Renovation & rewiring
Kitchen renos, bathroom upgrades, extensions, granny flats, full rewires. I handle the electrical from first fix through to final — coordinating with your builder or working direct.
What I handle
Renovation electrical is timing. You need first fix done when the walls are open, then come back for final fix after plastering. Miss the window and it gets expensive to chase cables through finished walls.
For older Morley and Noranda homes, renovation work often means dealing with original wiring that wasn't designed for modern loads. Adding a new kitchen circuit when the board is already full, running power to a granny flat, or rewiring a section that's been untouched since the 70s.
I work with builders and owner-builders. Either way, you get a proper plan before we start, not surprises mid-job.

Local renovation examples
Kitchen gut and rebuild
1980s kitchen torn out, new layout with island bench. Ran new circuits for induction cooktop, oven, rangehood, and extra power points. Upgraded the board to handle it all.
Granny flat addition
New granny flat at the back of an existing home. Ran a sub-board from the main house, wired the flat from scratch — lights, power, split system circuit, smoke alarms.
Partial rewire in an older home
Original rubber wiring in part of the house. Rewired the affected circuits, left the newer sections alone, upgraded the board to modern safety switches.
What to send me
SMS me a description of the reno (kitchen, bathroom, extension, etc.), photos of the space and the switchboard, and where you're at in the build timeline. The earlier you get in touch, the better I can plan the work.

When should I call you during a renovation?
Ideally before the walls go up. First fix (rough-in) happens when the framing is exposed — that's when I run cables for lights, power points, and any other circuits. Final fix happens after plastering, when I install the switches, outlets, and fittings.
Can you rewire a house while we're living in it?
Partial rewires yes — we do a room or circuit at a time and keep power to the rest of the house. Full rewires are messier and usually easier when the house is empty for a few days, but it can be done either way.
Do older Morley homes need full rewiring?
Not always. Many 70s and 80s homes just need the switchboard upgraded and a few circuits added or replaced. I'll check what you've got and tell you whether a partial fix is enough or if a full rewire makes more sense.
