Power Points
Older Morley homes weren't designed for today's electrical needs. One power point per room doesn't cut it when you've got TVs, computers, chargers, and appliances everywhere. I add power points where you actually need them.
The Problem with Older Homes
A 1970s Morley brick-and-tile was built with maybe two or three power points per room. The electrician at the time figured that was plenty. Forty years later, every room has a TV, a laptop, phone chargers, lamps, and more.
The result is powerboards and extension leads everywhere. That's messy, inconvenient, and sometimes unsafe. Overloaded powerboards are a common cause of electrical fires.
Adding proper power points isn't as disruptive as you might think. I can usually run cables through the roof space and wall cavities without major patching. A couple of hours and you've got outlets where they should have been all along.
