G'day, I'm Tony. Licensed electrical contractor, EC 9715.

I've been working the inner north-east for longer than I care to admit, and Morley's one of those suburbs where the electrical work tells you the whole story of the place. Big old blocks that got subdivided. 70s brick homes that have had three different owners and six different "handy" upgrades. Unit groups in Dianella and Bedford where one tenancy change turns into a smoke alarm, RCD and switchboard tidy-up all in the same visit.

That's normal around here.

Morley, Noranda, Embleton and Bayswater aren't the sort of suburbs where every house was built last Tuesday. A lot of the work is getting older stock to behave properly with modern loads — air con, new ovens, extra power points, induction cooktops, EV chargers, CCTV, you name it. The board might have been fine twenty years ago. Now it's asking for dramas.

I like this kind of work because it's practical

You can usually see pretty quickly what's original, what's been added later, and what's been hanging on by luck. I'm not there to bury you in jargon. I'm there to tell you what's safe, what needs doing now, and what can wait until the next round if you're managing a few rentals and trying to keep the budget sensible.

For landlords and property managers

That usually means compliance jobs done properly. RCDs. Smoke alarms. Faults picked up before the next tenant move-in. Power points, lighting and switchboards sorted without a heap of theatre. If you've got two units in Morley and a duplex in Yokine, you don't need a glossy brochure. You need a sparkie who answers, shows up, and leaves the place safer than he found it.

I still handle the everyday owner-occupier work too. New lights in Bedford. Fault finding in Noranda. CCTV on a rear laneway in Embleton. A switchboard upgrade in Bayswater because the old one finally waved the white flag. Same rules every time — honest assessment, neat work, and no pretending a five-minute look is some grand engineering event.

What EC 9715 means

EC 9715 means the work is done under my electrical contractor's licence with WA Building & Energy. That matters. It means real accountability, real insurance, and proper sign-off under one licence — not a loose chain of subbies and excuses if something goes pear-shaped later.
