Gas appliance electrical

Electrical connections for gas cooktops, ovens, heaters. I handle the electrical side under EC 9715. Gas fitting work is routed to licensed gas fitters.

What I handle vs. what gets routed

I handle all electrical work under EC 9715 — power connections, ignition circuits, thermostat wiring, control systems. Gas pipe connections and bayonet fittings require a licensed gas fitter, which is routed to licensed partners. I can coordinate both trades if you need the full job done.

What I handle

Many gas appliances have an electrical component — ignition systems, thermostats, fans, digital controls. When those need attention, it's electrical work.

Gas cooktops with electric ignition need a power connection. Gas ovens often have electric elements for grilling or fan-forced modes. Gas heaters have ignition circuits and thermostats.

I handle the electrical side of these appliances. If the gas connection needs attention, I'll coordinate with a gas fitter to get both parts sorted.

Gas cooktop in kitchen renovation

New gas cooktop with electric ignition needed a power connection. Ran the electrical, coordinated with the gas fitter for the bayonet connection.

Embleton

Gas heater not igniting

Turned out to be the ignition circuit, not the gas side. Traced the fault to a corroded connection and fixed it — heater working again.

Dianella

Gas fireplace control issue

Remote control and thermostat weren't communicating. Electrical fault in the control board wiring, sorted it without needing a gas fitter.

What to send me

SMS me a photo of the appliance, describe what's happening (or what you need installed), and the suburb. I'll let you know if it's electrical, gas, or both.

Common questions

Do you connect gas appliances?

I handle the electrical side — ignition systems, electrical controls, power connections. Gas pipe connections require a licensed gas fitter, which I coordinate with or route to a licensed partner.

Can you install a gas cooktop with electric ignition?

Yes, the electrical side. That includes running power for the ignition system and any integrated rangehood controls. The gas connection itself gets done by a gas fitter.

My gas heater has an electrical fault — can you fix it?

If it's an electrical issue like the ignition circuit or thermostat wiring, yes. If it's a gas flow or burner issue, that's gas fitter territory. Sometimes it takes a look to work out which side the problem is on.
